The Dinsmore House Inn is a bed and breakfast located at 1211 West Main Street in Charlottesville. The structure is an example of Federal style of architecture and was constructed between 1822 and 1826. Other names for the building are the Heiskell-McKinnie House and the Livers Townhouse. [1] The builder was James Dinsmore, Thomas Jefferson's master builder. The inn has eight guest rooms. [2]

Cafe Addition

In August 2016, the Charlottesville Board of Architectural Review approved a certificate of appropriateness for a plan to modify the structure to allow for a cafe. A side porch on the eastern side will be demolished and replaced with a brick structure. Outdoor seating will be added in front of the structure on West Main Street. Two more rooms will be built. [1] This would become the Farm Bell Kitchen.
