Independent Dennis Rooker was re-elected to the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors on November 8, 2005.


Biography

Dennis Rooker was born in Michigan in 1950 and grew up in Pulaski, Va. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1968, from UVA with a B.A. in economics in 1972, and from UVA Law School in 1976. He and his wife, Ann, have 2 married daughters and 2 grandsons. A businessman and attorney, he has lived in Albemarle County for 35 years. He has served on numerous Albemarle County government committees for the past 15 years, including the Planning Commission which he chaired. An Independent, Dennis was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2001 and is now chairman.
