Dave S. Ghamandi is a professional lecturer employed by the University of Virginia and is a frequently speaker at City meetings.

Education

In 2012, Dave Shankar Ghamandi graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Information and Library Science with a Master of Science in Library Science. [1]

Employment

Ghamandi is managing editor of Aperio Journals, an Open Publishing joint venture between the University of Virginia Library and the University of Virginia Press. Aperio Journals stated goal is to provide open access to “knowledge for a global audience in a variety of formats --journals, monographs, conferences, open educational resources, etc.” Aperio encourages editorial members to seek out board members, reviewers, and authors from underrepresented populations by race, gender, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, ability, age, and class.” Aperio staff “evaluate proposals and expressions of interest to determine whether they meet our scope and guidelines”.
