Warner D. "Dave" Chapman is the elected Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Charlottesville[1] . First elected to the position in 1993, Chapman is a graduate of the U.Va School of Law. [2]

Election 2013
In the 2013 Democratic primary, Chapman defeated Steve Deaton for the nomination. He has no general election opponent. [3] Chapman also defeated Deaton in a Democratic caucus in 1993, the last time he had any opposition to the position.
