Cynthia L. "Cindi" Burket is the Scottsville District Republican nominee for the Albemarle Board of Supervisors in the 2013 election.[1]

Political Background

Burket served as chair of the Albemarle County Republican Committee until she chose to run for supervisor.[2] She was president of the Albemarle Charlottesville Republican Women's League in 2008.[3]

Burket has made two unsuccessful bids for local office. In 2013, Burket was one of ten candidates for appointment as interim Scottsville District Representative on the Albemarle Board of Supervisors following the June 2013 resignation of Christopher Dumler.[4] She lost the appointment to William "Petie" Craddock.[5]

In 2011, Burket ran unsuccessfully for Albemarle County School Board against Ned Gallaway.[3]

Education

Burket earned a B.S. in Law Enforcement and Correction from Penn State University and a M.A. in Public Administration with a concentration in Criminal Justice from George Mason University in 1974 and 1981, respectively.[6]
