The Charlottesville Women's Four-Miler is the largest female-only road race in Virginia. [1]

History

The race was first held in 1983 by Cynthia Lorenzoni and Mark Lorenzoni of the Ragged Mountain Running Shop. It has since grown in size, with over 3,000 participants in 2011. [1] The race is generally held on Labor Day weekend.
