About

The Charlottesville Goat Justice League was an organization that advocated for changes in city law to allow residents to keep up to three miniature goats for milk production.[1] The founder is Megan Keith-Hynes. In 2010, the group was successful in getting Charlottesville City Council to pass an ordinance allowing city residents to own up to three goats.[2] After the Charlottesville City Council passed the ordinance, the Charlottesville Goat Justice League changed its name to the Charlottesville Goat Keepers Association, which has been active in educating the community about keeping goats, including a workshop which taught milking and trimming goats and other basic care-taking chores.
