The tax rate is for the calendar year while the fiscal year runs July 1 to June 30. The rate has not been raised since 1981, when it went from $1.10 to $1.13.[citation needed]

  • What is the tax rate in neighboring jurisdictions?
When the current (County) tax rate of 79.9 cents is adjusted to reflect the impact of revenue sharing, the County actually operates on a 10.5 cent lower rate, or 69.4 cents, because of the amount allocated to the City of Charlottesville.[4]
