The Central Virginia Partnership for Economic Development, formally known as the Thomas Jefferson Partnership for Economic Development (TJPED), combines public and private resources to create job opportunities in the Greater Charlottesville Region. [1]

They conduct research for businesses, provide information regarding site selection, provide training and technical assistance adn act as a business liason with state and local partners for training, infrastructure, finance and other solutions.[2]

Helen Cauthen took over as the new executive director of TJPED on February 1, 2012. She was formerly the CEO of Team Volusia Economic Development Corporation in Volusia County, Florida. One reason she has cited for taking the job is that her son is a student at the University of Virginia. [3]

Former directors

The former executive director, Michael Harvey, steppped down on August 1, 2011 to take a position with the Northwest Arkansas Council. [5]
