Buckingham County

Buckingham County is the county directly south of Albemarle County.

Buckingham County was established on May 1st, 1761 from the southeastern portion of Albemarle County. The James River is the border between the two counties. [1] The reason for the county's name of the county is not known. The town seat is Dillwyn.
