Status Update

The Bent Creek Parkway is a planned road that will connect Fifth Street with Avon Street.

The road was proffered by the developers of the Fifth and Avon Center as part of a rezoning. The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors agreed to rezone the land to accommodate the new retail development, but will not grant occupancy until the road is completed[1].

Alternate ideas

At the October 2011 meeting of the MPO Policy Board, Albemarle resident Lawrence Jacksina suggested that plans for the Bent Creek Parkway be amended to provide one-way access to Interstate 64. [citation needed] The idea did not go anywhere.
