The Barry & Bill Battle Building opened to the public in June 2014 on West Main Street as part of the University of Virginia's Children's Hospital. The University of Virginia Foundation successfully applied for a change to the zoning ordinance to allow the structure to have a lower street wall.[1]

The 203,000 square foot 7-story building had a cost of $141.5 million and was opened in the summer of 2014. [2] Odell, of Richmond, VA, served as the Architect of Record, with Stanley Beaman & Sears of Atlanta, GA as Associate Architect. Kjellstrom & Lee of Richmond, VA, served as contractor.
