The Ash Lawn-Highland Opera Festival began in 1978 with a series of lectures and one-act operas. Today, the festival programs six to eight weeks of opera each summer. In previous year, shows were performed sat Ash Lawn-Highland itself, but due to weather constraints, they are currently[when?] staged at the Paramount Theater[1].
