The American Legion describes itself as the world's largest veterans organization[1], and Post 74 is the Charlottesville Branch. An advocacy group for veteran's rights, The Legion works for higher pay, better housing, job placement services, and other quality-of-life issues for active and retired armed forces.

Post 74 offers its members several youth programs, as well as Bingo every Friday night[2].
