The Albemarle County School Board is the governing body of Albemarle County Public Schools.
Current Membership
The board has seven elected members, six of which represent magisterial districts. A seventh seat is elected at-large.
- Steve Koleszar (Scottsville), Chairman
- Harley L. Miles (At-Large)[1], Vice Chairman
- Diantha McKeel (Jack Jouett)
- Barbara Massie Mouly (White Hall)
- Pam Moynihan (Rio)
- Eric Strucko (Samuel Miller)

Chairman
The members select a Chair annually from among their members at the reorganization meeting each January. Koleszar was appointed as chair on January 13, 2011.[2]
The current chair, Ron Price, announced that he will resign effective January 6, 2011.[3]
2010 appointment
Brian Wheeler resigned from the school board on August 5, 2010, citing time constraints, family responsibilities and increased occupational duties. The timing allowed the board to appoint a replacement rather than hold an election. On September 9, 2010, the board selected four candidates to interview[4]:
