City charging station

In 2010, the City of Charlottesville was awarded a $500,000 grant for Aker Wade to build a pilot fast-charging station for electric vehicles. There will be two chargers that are designed to recharge a battery in 25 minutes. Four vehicles will be purchased as part of the project, doubling the city's electric-powered fleet[2].
