900‐1000 South First Street, near the intersection of South First Street and Hartman's Mill Road, is the address of a proposed new 63-unit apartment development planned by the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority (CRHA). As presented to the Charlottesville Planning Commission on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, CRHA is seeking approval of the application to re-classify the field along South First Street as a subdivision and thereby allow extension of public utilities to the site.[1]
These new public housing units will be operated by CRHA, which is the same group that operates Crescent Halls.
