Charlottesville

Three seats on the Charlottesville City Council were available in the June 11, 1968 general election. Seven candidates were on the ballot. The top three vote-getters were Joseph W. Wright Jr., Kenneth E. Davis and Mitch Van Yahres.

Collett M. Thach (D) 2,129 36.6%
Geraldine A. Meyung (D) 2,069 35.6%

Each voter could vote for up to three candidates.

In November, voters were also asked whether serving mixed-drinks should be allowed in Charlottesville restaurants.
