Elections for Charlottesville City Council were held in 1948. Three of five seats up for election. The general election was held on
Democratic Primary
The League of Women Voters canceled a scheduled pre-primary forum in April due to a lack of interest from candidates. [1]
The seven candidates for the April 6 primary were: [2]
The Daily Progress reported that the primary season was "unusually quiet" despite the large field.
In addition, Republican James Barr III ran as an independent. [3]
