Elections for Charlottesville City Council were held in 1948. Three of five seats up for election. The general election was held on


Democratic Primary

The total registration for the primary was 6,587 voters. [1]

The League of Women Voters canceled a scheduled pre-primary forum in April due to a lack of interest from candidates. [2]

The Daily Progress reported that the primary season was "unusually quiet" despite the large field.
