Westlake Hills is a planned 131-unit neighborhood near Crozet being developed by-right. The developer, Riverbend Management needs to obtain a critical slopes waiver in order to proceed because 27 potential lots are affected by critical slopes. Residents of the Crozet area have expressed concern that the development will detract from the small town atmosphere of Crozet as well as put pressure on current traffic patterns.
The project was originally slated to be 145 units. Construction on the first phase will begin in the fall of 2012 and Riverbend anticipates a ten-year build-out.
