- 1890 – Daniel Watson is born to Obis Watson and Betty Brown in Albemarle County. A stone quarryman in his youth and a decorated World War I veteran, Watson had his portrait photgraph prominently included within the Holsinger Studio Collection.
- 1942 – Charlottesville City Council approves the scrapping of 300 tons of iron rails from trolley lines for the war effort.
- 1974 – First performance of The Virginia Pep Band.
