- 1665 – Nicholas Meriwether II was born in Surry County. In 1735, he secured a patent for land in what would eventually become eastern Albemarle County.
- 1743 – Dabney Carr was born at Bear Castle, a thousand-acre farm in Louisa County. He was one of Thomas Jefferson's closest friends; married Martha Jefferson, Jefferson's sister and become a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses.
- 1799 – The Lodge called the Widow's Son was opened at Milton, then the principal trading center of Albemarle County, on the first degree of Masonry with thirteen members present.
- 2017 – RISE Charlottesville announced that the group would circulate petitions against the entirety of Charlottesville's five member city council in an effort to recall the council members.
