• 1904 – 1904 – The Murder trial of former mayor J. Samuel McCue began at the Albemarle County Courthouse, with instructions from the judge and opening statements from the prosecution and defense.
• 2014 – The remains of Hannah Graham are found on property in Albemarle County near Walnut Creek Park by searchers. The 18-year-old UVA student was last seen early September 13th on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall.
• 2023 – UVA purchased the 5-acre historic Oak Lawn property, near Buford Middle School, for $3.5 million.
