- 1783 – The 14th Virginia Regiment formally disbanded. Raised in western Virginia in 1776 for service with the Continental Army, the majority of the veterans from Albemarle County who enlisted in the Revolutionary War were assigned to this regiment.
- 1824 – When General Lafayette was entertained at dinner in the Rotunda at the University of Virginia, Mr. Valentine Wood Southall presided.
- 1960 – Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad started providing first-aid services to the citizens of Charlottesville and Albemarle County. Before the squad was founded, the only way a local citizen could get to a hospital was to call friends or a local funeral home who provided transportation to the hospital in a hearse.
- 2022 – Cole Hendrix, longest serving Charlottesville City Manager, died (aged 88).
