- 1860 – Paul Goodloe McIntire, acknowledged as one of the great benefactors of the City of Charlottesville, the County of Albemarle and also the University of Virginia, was born.
- 2017 – A Decoration Day was held at the Daughters of Zion Cemetery. The approximately two-acre burial ground was established in 1873 by members of the Daughters of Zion Society, an African American women’s benevolent organization that sought to support the needs of African Americans.
