- 1773 – Dabney Carr, aged 29, died in Charlottesville of bilious fever. Married to Thomas Jefferson's sister, he was the first person buried in the family graveyard later used for Thomas Jefferson.
- 1923 – Local civic groups, including the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, Young Men’s Business Club, and League of Women Voters, met to discuss a proposed city "hog ordinance."
