• 1911 – Micajah Woods died. Well know in politics and as a lawyer - today he is remembered locally as the prosecuting attorney in the 1905 murder trial of Charlottesville ex-mayor Samuel McCue and the father of Maud Coleman Woods, the first "Miss America."
