- 1911 – Micajah Woods died suddenly at age 66 after a brief illness from the grippe. He served as Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Charlottesville for 41 years and was one of Virginia’s most celebrated lawyers. Woods is remembered locally for prosecuting the 1905 murder trial of former Charlottesville mayor J. Samuel McCue and as the father of Maud Coleman Woods.
