  • 1960 – Sam Jessup, founder of the Charlottesville Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. and the Monticello Dairy, died.
  • 2016 – Launched in 2013 to provide tourism assistance and to help police with alleged crime on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall, the Downtown Mall Ambassadors program ends. Over a three-year period, the city plans to hire 22 new officers to provide more law enforcement coverage.
