  • 1904William Fitzhugh Gordon Jr., died in Staunton, Va. Born at “Edgeworth”, Albemarle County, November 26, 1823. He served as clerk of the Virginia House of Delegates (1859-1865). During the 1860's, he live at Enderly with his wife Nammie. He was one of the secretaries of the Constitutional Convention held in the city of Richmond in 1861, which adopted the Ordinance of Secession; was special emissary of the Convention conveying the official copy of that document to Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America, at Montgomery, Alabama; and was a soldier in the Confederate States Army.
