  • 1902 – Following various court challenges, the Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals ruled in Taylor v. Commonwealth (1903) the new Virginia Constitution became law. The 1902 Constitution's severe restrictions of suffrage among both blacks and whites was proclaimed without submitting it to the people.
  • 2021 – After holding an emergency / special meeting at 12 p.m., Charlottesville City Council voted unanimously (5-0) to remove the City's Sacagawea, Lewis and Clark Statue this afternoon.
