  • 1910 – The Board of Visitors at the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech explain in a statement why they do not wish to have a football game between the two sides each year.
  • 1971UVA celebrated its first-ever appearance in the Associated Press Top 20 rankings by upsetting the No. 2-ranked University of South Carolina, 50-49.
  • 1975 – Charlottesville native Roosevelt "Rosie" Brown became just the second player ever to earn Pro Football Hall of Fame membership on the merits of his offensive line play alone.
  • 2021 – Charlottesville School Board member Juandiego Wade announces candidacy for City Council.
  • 2023 – Final day in office for City Councilor Sena Magill. This is the first council resignation since 1967.
