• 1807 – Thomas Jefferson wrote to Etienne Lemaire, requesting the return of a specific plat of his farm and related documents left in Washington, which he needed for his work at Monticello.
• 1982 – Charles P. Nash Jr, former member of the Charlottesville City Council in the 1940s, died at age 85 and was buried in the University of Virginia Cemetery and Columbarium.
