  • 1955 – While traveling in Europe, Fiske Kimball suffered a heart attack and stroke. He died at the age of sixty-six in Munich, Germany.
  • 1975 – Dr. Charles Pollard Olivier died at aged 91. Born in Charlottesville to George W. Olivier and Katharine Pollard Olivier, over his 65-year career, Dr. Olivier attracted a wide variety of observers who helped him explore a number of areas within “classical” meteoric astronomy. He was buried in the family section of Maplewood Cemetery.
