Categories for former/current candidates

Should we have "Former City Council Candidates" or "Former candidates for elected office"? My preference would be the former. --Seantubbs 17:18, 21 September 2009 (EDT)

I think that preference is right, since the former's a super-cat of the latter. I made that change.
There's a secondary question here, which is "what's in each?". See talk at Albemarle County Sheriffs. I don't really care so much what these cats are called, or if you detail them down to the "candidates for x" vs. "candidates for office". What I do care about, for each membership list (sherriff, candidate, whatever) that there is one cat with everyone who ever was (current and former; in the case of candidates, both winners and losers) and only a cat for 'current' or 'winners' if desired (in this case, it's the 2009 election candidates and the "current city council", for elections and members, respectively). This seems not to be the current model, but if I could snap my fingers and make it happen, I would. -- B.S. Lawrence 18:58, 22 September 2009 (EDT)
