The Stonewall Jackson Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America covers the Charlottesville-Albemarle community. It was organized in Staunton in 1927 and in 1931 it merged with the Lewis & Clark Council in Charlottesville[1]. The council's first leader was J.W. Fix who served from 1927 to 1950. The council is headquartered in Waynesboro and is led by James Battaglia.
The Stonewall Jackson Area Council is split into four districts. The Monticello district includes Charlottesville, Albemarle County, Fluvanna County, Greene County, Louisa County, Madison County, and Orange County.[2]
