Community Work

In 2008, Southern Development helped develop the Van der Linde recycling facility in Louisa County. For a time they sent all of their construction waste to that site. [10]

In 2009, Southern Development donated 1.5 acres of land to the City of Charlottesville to be added to Forest Hills Park. Mayor Dave Norris lauded the donation as "the largest increase in City park land since 1987," [11] increasing the size of the park by 20%.
