Sherman R. White (1943-2013) was a Charlottesville community leader and unsuccessful candidate in the 1976 City Council election. [1]

Notable events
- April 9, 1960 – White is featured in the Charlottesville Daily Progress for being chosen as one of 45 finalists in the Virginia Science Talent Search for his project "Finding a Non-radioactive Method of Measuring the Uranium Contest of Impregnated Gases" [2]
- April 6, 1987 – White appears before City Council to state that the Lucky Seven Store on Grady Avenue was a public nuisance because it was open 24 hours a day. [3]
