The Shelter for Help in Emergency (SHE) offers temporary housing to women and children who are victims of domestic violence and feel they are in immediate danger. The Shelter operates a 24-hour hotline at 434-293-8509 for victims and survivors who need to talk and for anyone who would like more information. Services include counseling, case management, children's programs, and legal advocacy. The Shelter provides a Spanish-speaking advocate for victims and the Shelter provides a foster care program for victims' pets.[1]
