  • 1950 – Charlottesville Planning Commission approves subdivision for homes on Calhoun Street in the Locust Grove neighborhood, but a rezoning request from the City Laundry at Preston Avenue and Tenth Street was denied. [1]
  • 1956St. Anne's-Belfield School begins the 1956 academic year with 176 students enrolled, the highest to date. The formal year begins with a chapel service by H. A. Donovan. [2]
