A bus stop at intersection of U.S. 29 and Route 29 is one of several transformative projects called for in the Rio Road Small Area Plan. [1]
This project supports the plan's vision of Connectivity and Conservation.
Description from plan
"A shared-use path is planned along the east side of Route 29. It is anticipated that the trail will connect to other sections of pathway north of the Plan Area. The path should be constructed to accommodate a high volume of pedestrian and bicycle traffic and to provide easy connectivity to the Rio29 transit station. Accommodations for the shared-use path should be made as adjacent parcels develop or redevelop."
