The Review was a local newspaper that was published in Charlottesville from 1860 to 1861.[1] Its proprietors (and presumably editors) were Green Peyton and James C. Southall, although the authorship of the paper's editorials has never been conclusively proven. The paper was originally anti-secessionist but, upon the start of the Civil War, adopted a pro-Confederacy stance.[2]
