ReadyKids, formerly Children, Youth & Family Services, is a youth-serving nonprofit operating in Charlottesville and five surrounding counties. It was founded in 1921 as an orphanage.
The programs operate under the organization's mission of Opening Doors to Bright Futures for Kids, support, teach, counsel, coach to ensure that all kids receive high quality early learning experiences and nurturing, healthy, and developmentally appropriate family interactions. In 2016, ReadyKids improved the lives of over 7,900 children, families and childcare providers in our community.

Notable facts
In September 2010, the Building Goodness Foundation assisted Children Youth and Family Services with a new playground near their new headquarters.[1]
