Poggio a Caiano is one of Charlottesville's Sister Cities.
The community is a town of about 10,000 located in the Province of Prato, in the Tuscany region of Italy. The connection between Charlottesville and the town relates to the connection between Thomas Jefferson and italian physician Fillipo Mazzei.
