The Places29-North Advisory Committee is a subcommittee of the Places29 Advisory Committee created in 2015 to streamline citizen planning discussions.

Places29-North is comprised of the Hollymead and Piney Mountain Neighborhoods. Committee members represent a diversity of communities, reflecting the varied land uses in the area. Representations include neighborhoods, development, schools, industrial, mixed-use, and institutional communities. The group advises the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors on issues related to the Comprehensive Plan.

Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month at the library at Woodbrook Elementary School.

History

When the Places29 Master Plan was adopted in September 2011, there was originally only one advisory committee set up to make recommendations to Board of Supervisors.

However, the Board of Supervisors agreed to disband what had been called the Places29 Community Advisory Council at their final meeting of 2014. [1] The group was split into three including the Places29-Rio Advisory Committee and the Places29-Hydraulic Community Advisory Committee. [2]
