PBSJ was an engineering and design firm performed work related to the Eastern Connector study in the late 2000's. It is a subsidiary of The PBSJ Corporation.
By 2015, the company became the Atkins North America Holdings Company and was the subject of a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. [1]

Projects in the Charlottesville area
- Eastern Connector – The project was rendered dormant after the conclusion of a $500,000 study jointly paid for by Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville. [2]
