  • 1896Daily Progress reports that a 28-year-old Black man named Harvey Bell turned himself in to Charlottesville police and confessed for murdering his wife at their home near the Electric Light Plant. [1]
  • 1937 – The Board of Directors of the Central Virginia Cooperative met in Lovingston to discuss the signing of a contract with Virginia Public Service Company to supply power. [2]
