Montgomery "Bird" Woods
Montgomery "Bird" Woods (1935-2021) was an architect and Albemarle County resident who in 2014 donated over 400 acres of land on Dudley Mountain for the William S. D. Woods Natural Heritage Area. [1]

Biography
Woods was born on October 17, 1935 to Page Bird Woods and William Sharpless Derrick Woods. He graduated from St. Christopher's School and headed to the University of Virginia where he would eventually graduate after service in U.S. Army. This is where he met Jose Lambert who would become his spouse and business partner. The two established Lambert-Woods Architects and designed commercial and residential properties in San Francisco.
In the 1980's, the pair returned to Albemarle County on a section of Arrowhead Farm and would would eventually purchase the entire property.
Woods died on February 25, 2021.
