L. F. Payne Jr. is a member of the UVA Board of Visitors and the president of Three Ridges Group LLC.[1] Payne was appointed to the Board of Visitors in 2021 by Governor Northam, although he has served on the Board previously, appointed by former Governors Warner and Kaine from 2003 to 2011.[1]
