Kevin W. Ryan, an attorney with Michie Hamlett has been practicing law for over 27 years. Since 1992, his practice has been almost exclusively limited to helping people injured by car and tractor-trailer, accidents or by unsafe products at work and at home, fires and electrical explosions. From 1982 until 1992, his practice was a mix of commercial matters, banking, landlord-tenant and personal injury.

He is a member of the Virginia and West Virginia state bars. In helping injured people and the families of those who have lost a spouse or parent in an accident, Kevin has pursued personal injury claims in the courts of both states. In addition, he has pursued cases in Florida, South Carolina, Colorado and New Jersey with the help of attorneys admitted to the bar associations in those states. These cases involved wrongful death, liver and kidney failure cause by prescription drugs, a severe burn due to a defective surgical device and brain injury caused by a tractor-trailer accident. In the past 5 years he has gotten several million and multi-million dollar settlements for his clients in large truck and tractor-trailer cases and motorcycle and consumer product cases, all of which have been subject to confidentiality provisions except for a $2.5 million settlement in 2009 that was reached during a mediation with the McCammon Group (mediators).

Kevin lives in Crozet, Virginia, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and enjoys riding motorcycles along the Blue Ridge and in the Shenandoah Valley. In July 2006 he attended the Kevin Schwantz Suzuki School at Road Atlanta in Georgia and he regularly reads magazines on motorcycle performance, riding skills and safety. He rides a Buell XB12X. At home he relaxes by playing guitar and keeping in touch with his son Ian, a writer for computer game company Bioware in Austin, Texas; his daughter Anna, a painter in Savannah who is moving to Philadelphia, and his daughter Eva who is a flute performance major at Northwestern University outside Chicago.
